Membership Application Michigan Dog Rescue Advocates Mission Statement

To advocate for homeless dogs and those at risk of becoming homeless.

To advocate for the ethical, volunteer-run rescue organizations who strive to restore, rehabilitate and place these dogs in permanent, responsible homes.

To assist the adopting public in recognizing ethical rescues and understanding how adherence to the Code of Ethics benefits adopters, animals and community.

To provide the public animal control shelters with the means to partner with ethical rescue organizations who are pre-screened and dedicated to following a code of ethics that promotes healthy animals, well cared for, placed in permanent homes and supported by a contract that prohibits them from ever returning to a shelter.

To provide a mentoring network for new rescues and those existing rescues who want to bring their rescues into compliance with The Code of Ethics.

To facilitate our members’ growth through education, advocacy, communications and networking.

To respond to complaints alleging a violation of our Code of Ethics by one of our member rescues with an impartial peer investigation.
